Starlink has opened service in Hungary, with its availability message describing immediate service across the country.
Contemporary reporting by RTL records availability beginning May 10 and describes the company email. A same-day Hungarian discussion also records the opening. SpaceX's May 13 statement and map confirm Hungary in the operating footprint.
The country joins nearby markets including Austria, Slovakia and Romania. The direct satellite connection could be useful at a rural property whose existing broadband is inadequate.
The national opening doesn't establish a speed for every customer. The offered plan, conditions at the property and the installation itself still matter when comparing Starlink with a fixed or mobile connection.
A terminal placed beneath trees or behind a roofline can encounter obstructions. For a business considering the service as an outage backup, the power supply also needs to keep the terminal and necessary local equipment running.
For a household already served by reliable fibre, the equipment and recurring subscription may be harder to justify than for an isolated property with few alternatives.
