Starlink's beta has opened in Austria, with prospective customers beginning to receive availability messages on May 7.
In a contemporary customer discussion, recipients describe receiving the message and checking the app. Their reports establish that invitations were arriving, rather than that every Austrian address could place an order.
The opening follows Germany's initial rollout and coincides with the French beta. SpaceX subsequently included Austria in its own list of operating service countries.
The Austrian thread also illustrates why a launch doesn't mean the same thing to every customer. A person with a reliable existing link has a different reason to consider satellite from somebody trying to connect an isolated property. Individual comments about value are not a national pricing or performance survey.
Mountain terrain adds an installation consideration of its own. The dish needs a usable view of the sky, even when the property is far from the nearest fixed network.
Our Austrian installation directory provides a starting point for the local setup. Eligibility still needs to be checked for the address itself.
