A newer entry here doesn’t mean your Starlink is behind. These are reported identifiers, not a universal latest version or an official changelog. The app’s own update prompt is the place to check your device.

SOFTWARE UPDATES

How to Update Starlink

Your dish normally downloads software automatically while it’s online, then installs it during a reboot. You can choose an update window in the app.

Starlink’s update instructions

Open the Starlink app, look for Advanced, then find Software version under the Starlink section. Check the router separately, and remember that the phone app has its own version number.

Menu locations can change between app versions. Uptime tells you when the device last restarted; a restart alone doesn’t prove that firmware changed.

Starlink’s version-check guidance

HISTORICAL SERVICE NOTICE / NOV 17, 2025

Updating a Starlink Dish After Storage

In October 2025, Starlink asked selected customers with very old software to update by November 17, 2025. That deadline has passed. Starlink says affected terminals that couldn’t complete the update and can’t sideload are now inoperable.

Its guidance distinguishes versions older than 2024.05.0, versions from 2024.05.0 through 2024.12.26 that can sideload, and versions after 2024.12.26 that require no action for that notice. Check the instructions for your kit before trying to recover it.

SOURCE INFORMATION

Firmware Sources

The history includes community tracker records, directly checked Reddit reports, and entries from our original archive. Each record shows its source type and date. Dates show when a version was recorded or reported, rather than a worldwide release date.

Reddit links lead to posts that mention the version shown. Some records have no verified direct discussion; these are labeled Community record or Original archive. A version number alone doesn’t establish bug fixes, speed changes, or hardware compatibility.

This list is incomplete. Public social searches do not cover every update. No version reports were confirmed from the Facebook feeds checked for this review.
