Starlink has begun offering service in Bulgaria, adding another market to its European rollout.

A February 24 report reproducing the availability announcement describes expected downloads of up to 250 Mbps and latency as low as 20 milliseconds in most locations. Those are advertised expectations, rather than Bulgarian measurements from this publication.

SpaceX's subsequent company availability statement and map also place Bulgaria in its operating footprint. Customers still need an address-level check before assuming that equipment can immediately be ordered for their property.

The opening follows Slovakia and Spain earlier in the year. A satellite terminal could be useful at a rural home or workplace where a suitable terrestrial connection is hard to obtain.

The local alternative matters as much as an advertised speed. A household already getting reliable fixed broadband has a different reason to take on the equipment and recurring subscription cost.

Our Bulgarian installation directory covers planning a setup. A practical dish position clear of obstructions is still necessary even once the service address has been accepted.
