SpaceX has confirmed that Starlink is live in Slovenia, adding another country to its European service footprint.
At the close of its January 18 U.S. launch webcast, the company named Slovenia and Slovakia as operating markets. It was already January 19 in Slovenia when the statement was made.
The announcement put Starlink's footprint at 27 countries and regions. That is a count of service markets, rather than 27 independent countries or a claim that every address in those markets can immediately receive equipment.
The opening follows Slovakia's earlier customer invitations and adds another option alongside the existing terrestrial providers in Slovenia. Customers still need to check the address where the terminal will operate.
For a rural property, a satellite link could avoid waiting for a new fixed line to reach the premises. Nearby slopes, trees and buildings can nevertheless restrict the dish's view of the sky.
The company statement confirms an operating service, but doesn't identify the day the first Slovenian terminal was switched on. The practical comparison remains the connection available at the property, including equipment, installation and recurring costs.
