Starlink has opened its Portuguese beta, with the company describing limited supply and inviting customers to check their service address.
An August 10 recipient post reproduces the announcement email. It also says the Starlink website now supports Portuguese.
The message sets expectations of 50 to 150 Mbps downloads over the following months and warns of brief interruptions as the network develops. These are the company's beta expectations, rather than results from a Portuguese performance test.
The thread makes another useful distinction: receiving an availability email doesn't necessarily mean that an earlier deposit has already turned into a full order. The account's status and address check still determine what can be purchased.
Portugal follows Ireland in the European rollout. For a rural property with a poor existing connection, the satellite link could offer a meaningful alternative; a household with reliable fibre has a different cost comparison.
Our Portuguese installation directory is a starting point for the local setup. The dish still needs a suitable view of the sky at the property where it will operate.
