Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Niger. The company confirmed availability on March 13, 2025.
Niger is now part of Starlink's commercial service area. The announcement concerns Niger, the landlocked West African country, rather than Nigeria, which became Starlink's first African market in 2023.
A satellite link could add an option for isolated homes, businesses and institutions beyond suitable terrestrial coverage. The terminal still needs local electricity and an installation that keeps its view of the sky clear. For a shared site, the network distributing the connection is another part of the project.
Check the proposed dish position for obstructions before ordering. The plans offered for an address can be checked on Starlink’s live availability map.
