Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Burundi. The company confirmed availability on September 24, 2024.
Burundi has joined Starlink's African service footprint. It follows Rwanda in the Great Lakes region, giving another landlocked country access to the company's satellite broadband offering.
A direct link to a property could be useful where the existing connection cannot support a business or institution's needs. The dish is only the upstream connection, though. A school or office will still need to distribute that connection locally and keep the terminal, router and access points powered.
Check the proposed dish position for obstructions before ordering. The plans offered for an address can be checked on Starlink’s live availability map.
