Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Botswana. The company confirmed availability on August 28, 2024.
Botswana and Ghana joined Starlink in the same announcement. The company said it was serving 105 markets worldwide, including 15 in Africa, as the two countries became available.
For Botswana, the service could be useful at a farm, lodge or other property away from a suitable terrestrial connection. The scale of the country makes it worth checking the exact location rather than assuming that a nearby town's connectivity options extend to a more isolated site.
Check the proposed dish position for obstructions before ordering. The plans offered for an address can be checked on Starlink’s live availability map.
