Starlink has entered the Turks and Caicos Islands' telecommunications market. The formal opening took place on August 27, 2026, at a licence-signing and presentation ceremony in Providenciales.
The Telecommunications Commission announced the ceremony in advance. Its licence register separately records August 24 as the issue date for Starlink Caribbean LLC. That is a regulatory date, rather than the date of the public opening.
At the event, officials discussed the potential for satellite broadband to improve connections beyond the main population centres and provide another communications route following a hurricane. Subsequent reporting on the ceremony confirmed that the signing had taken place.
The launch follows earlier Caribbean openings, including the Cayman Islands. Its practical value will depend on the connection already available at the customer's property, as well as the equipment and recurring cost.
A backup connection still needs a suitable power supply for the dish and router. Check the service address on Starlink's map for the local offer, rather than assuming that a plan sold on another island applies.
