Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Tonga. The company confirmed availability on August 3, 2024.
Starlink confirmed that service was now available across Tonga. This is a commercial availability announcement, separate from the temporary and emergency uses of satellite links that can precede a regular market opening.
For the island nation, another route online could be useful both as a main connection and as a backup. But a dish isn't a complete emergency communications setup by itself. The customer also needs power, working local equipment and a service arrangement suitable for the intended use.
Check the proposed dish position for obstructions before ordering. The plans offered for an address can be checked on Starlink’s live availability map.
