Starlink says its service is operating on Pitcairn Island and Easter Island. The company announced the two remote Pacific openings on November 22, 2022.
The announcement names two places thousands of miles from the nearest continent. Easter Island, also called Rapa Nui, is part of Chile; Pitcairn is a separate British overseas territory. They are regional openings, rather than two new independent countries.
Easter Island's inclusion is also separate from Chile's earlier rollout. A mainland launch should not be assumed to establish when a distant island first received service.
Satellite can offer a useful route online where laying a terrestrial connection is difficult. Even so, the customer still needs equipment, a suitable sky view, and a power supply at the property. Our guides explain obstruction checks and power requirements.
Starlink's post confirms operation in the two locations without setting out a shared tariff or a measured speed. Check the service location on the company's map for the applicable offer.
