Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in the Philippines. The company confirmed availability on February 22, 2023.
The Philippines has joined Japan in Starlink's Asian service footprint. For an archipelago, satellite broadband offers another way to connect a home or business without relying on a terrestrial link reaching the individual island and property.
That could be useful for an outlying household or accommodation business, provided the equipment and monthly bill make sense. A launch on land doesn't automatically include every use at sea. A boat owner needs to check the service plan and permissions for the intended location and movement.
