Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Japan. The company confirmed availability on October 11, 2022.
Japan is Starlink's first Asian market, according to SpaceX's launch announcement. It extends the company's commercial service beyond its earlier footprint in the Americas, Europe and Oceania.
The launch is particularly relevant to customers who can't get a suitable terrestrial connection at their location. It isn't a promise that every Japanese address is immediately orderable, or that a satellite dish will outperform an existing fibre line. The address check is the place to start.
Our Starlink installation directory for Japan can help with planning the local setup. For current plans, check the service address on Starlink’s availability map.
