Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Madagascar. The company confirmed availability on June 27, 2024.
Madagascar is now part of Starlink's commercial service area. The launch gives customers on the large Indian Ocean island another way to connect a property without a terrestrial cable reaching the premises.
The benefit will depend on where the customer is and what is already available there. A remote lodge or rural workplace could have a different reason to order than an urban household. Both still need an unobstructed installation site; satellite service doesn't remove the effect of nearby trees and buildings.
Check the proposed dish position for obstructions before ordering. The plans offered for an address can be checked on Starlink’s live availability map.
