Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Colombia. The company confirmed availability on February 3, 2023.
Colombia's addition continues Starlink's expansion in South America after Peru. It gives customers another way to connect a property without waiting for a fixed network to be extended to the building.
The service could be useful for rural homes, farms and workplaces, but a satellite terminal still needs a workable installation site. In wooded or mountainous areas, the nearest open patch of ground may not provide the view of the sky that the dish needs throughout the day.
