Starlink's public beta has reached Canada, with customers beginning to receive invitations after the U.S. opening.

A New Brunswick recipient shared an invitation listing C$649 for the terminal and C$129 per month for service. The post appeared on November 13 locally, although its UTC timestamp falls on November 14.

Those are Canadian-dollar figures from the initial invitation, rather than a conversion of the U.S. offer. Equipment and the subscription are separate costs, which matters for a household comparing the satellite service with its existing connection.

The launch is an invitation-based beta. An early customer in New Brunswick doesn't establish that people across northern Canada can immediately order the same service, or that every Canadian address is covered.

For a rural home that lacks a suitable fixed line, the attraction is straightforward: a dish can provide the link without a cable being extended to the property. The customer still needs enough open sky and a reliable power supply for the equipment.

An individual customer's invitation is useful evidence that the rollout has started. It is not a performance survey or a guarantee that the next applicant will receive an invitation on the same schedule.
