Starlink has announced availability in Åland, Svalbard, and Jan Mayen. The company confirmed the regional expansion on February 14, 2025.
These are three separate areas: Åland in the Baltic Sea, and Svalbard and Jan Mayen farther north in the Arctic and North Atlantic. The announcement is distinct from the earlier mainland launches in Finland and Norway.
The company named all three areas in the opening, but that does not establish that the same equipment, subscription, or installation arrangement suits every location. Customers still need to check the address and the intended use.
For a remote site, the mounting position and power supply are part of the decision. A clear view of the sky is necessary, and the terminal cannot keep working through a local power outage without an appropriate supply. Our power guide explains that requirement.
Check the service location on Starlink's availability map for the offer that applies there. The regional launch alone is not a performance test at every site.
