United announced an official Starlink flight tracker on October 15, letting travelers check whether their upcoming flight is scheduled to have the satellite Wi-Fi service. Its aircraft breakdown also shows how much of the widebody rollout is still ahead.

At the time of writing on October 16, the dashboard’s latest update was dated October 15. It listed 639 equipped aircraft and Starlink on 47% of daily departures.

Just six of those aircraft were widebodies: four Boeing 777s and two 787s. The remaining installations were on regional jets (351) and narrowbody aircraft (282).

For passengers hoping to use Starlink on a long-haul trip, that breakdown matters more than the airline-wide percentage.

United’s first Starlink widebody flight was scheduled for June. At that point, the airline expected nearly 60 widebody installations before the end of 2026, so there’s still considerable work left to reach that target.

The tracker accepts a flight number and travel date within three days of departure. United says it updates flight results when aircraft assignments change, although those assignments are typically confirmed only within 24 hours of departure.

That last detail is worth keeping in mind. In the Reddit discussion about the launch, one traveler reported that three of four flights the previous week changed from Starlink-equipped to unequipped aircraft within the final day.

Another reported getting Starlink on both mainline and United Express flights across two consecutive days. These are individual experiences, but they illustrate why an improving rollout can still feel inconsistent from one trip to the next.

The dashboard also breaks down departures by hub. Its October 15 snapshot put Chicago at 54% and Denver at 53%, compared with 36% in San Francisco. Those figures describe departures from each hub, not a guarantee for a particular route.

Starlink remains free for MileagePlus members in every cabin on equipped aircraft. United says it’s installing the system on about 20 aircraft per week and aims to finish the fleet rollout by the end of 2027.

If you’re choosing a flight several months ahead, the tracker won’t settle the Wi-Fi question yet. Check again close to departure, especially if you’re planning to work onboard: an aircraft swap can still change the answer.
