Starlink has launched its satellite broadband service in Fiji. The company confirmed availability on May 20, 2024.
Starlink said it was live across Fiji's more than 300 islands. The company described Fiji as its 99th country, territory or market, so that figure should not be mistaken for a count of independent countries.
For an outlying home or tourism business, the launch adds another potential connection beyond the local terrestrial network. It doesn't mean a terminal can simply be moved anywhere at sea. An installation on land and a connection aboard a moving vessel have different requirements.
