Starlink ended September with 13.6 million consumer subscribers, up from 12 million three months earlier, according to SpaceX’s third-quarter results released on October 20.
That’s 1.6 million additional subscriptions in one quarter, a rise of about 13%. Compared with the 7.2 million reported a year earlier, the consumer base has grown by roughly 89%.
That figure covers consumer subscriptions, not everyone using a Starlink connection. SpaceX separately says it has hundreds of thousands of enterprise subscribers.
The connectivity business brought in $5.248 billion during the July-to-September quarter, up 69% from a year earlier. Consumer revenue accounted for $3.121 billion, with enterprise and government customers contributing another $2.127 billion.
Enterprise and government customers therefore supplied about 41% of connectivity revenue, despite representing far fewer subscriptions.
Average monthly revenue per consumer rose to $69 from $66 in the previous quarter, though it remained below the $83 reported a year earlier. That’s a revenue measure across the customer base, not a new monthly plan price.
SpaceX also reported 3,800 aircraft equipped with Starlink by September 30. The company-wide figure doesn’t tell passengers whether their particular flight has it.
